Week 1: First Matchup of the Season – A Loss
Overview / Main Takeaway
First off, welcome back to a brand-new NFL season! We’ve been waiting for this for a while, and now it’s finally here. Week 1 came with both wins and losses—especially for me, Lawrence, and Laila’s teams.
Games I Watched
- Chargers vs. Chiefs: 27–21
- Cowboys vs. Eagles: 20–24
- Jets vs. Steelers: 34–32
Awards
Justin Herbert – 3 terrific touchdowns, 318 passing yards, and a clutch run that sealed their very first win against the Chiefs.
Jets Zone
We surprisingly lost to 41-year-old Aaron Rodgers and the Steelers. Even worse—we were winning before Xavier Gipson dropped the ball, which led to a Steelers touchdown.
Justin Fields – Our newest quarterback threw a sharp 33-yard pass to Garrett Wilson and even ran it into the end zone for a score.
Will McDonald IV – Had a big game with 2 sacks on the quarterback and 2 more tackles on other Steelers players.
Next week, we face another tough team: the Bills. I really, really hope we beat them—because no one wants to start the season 0–2.
When: 1:00 p.m. Sunday
